Better Than Fruitcake

Really, I like Christmas letters. They’re interesting and informative. All the better if they include a picture.

My only problem with them is that they force you to sum up the last year in two pages, and this almost invariably requires an overly upbeat, everlastingly optimistic tone that tends to imply a bouncy, year-long ride of perpetual happiness.

But maybe that’s their place.

Note: not saying that all Christmas letters have this tone.

  1. You really hate a positive spin, don’t you. What is with the thirst for negativity?

  2. I just want a smidge of reality. That’s what you’re all about, right, realism?

  3. Hi guys! Just checking in to let you know I’m still alive and still reading the by-log even tho I’m too ITM to comment. Choice Books right now is “on a knife edge” from top to bottom.

    God bless us everyone!

  4. Yeah, girl, it’s been too long!! When do you fly to CO? Missin’ you.

  5. Piglet, the plane leaves at 6:00 am tomorrow. Don’t know if I’ll get any sleep tonight.

  6. Oh I get this warm happy feeling. I just landed in the world of Christopher Robin.

Question for Pooh and Piglet. Are all the lovely little characters in Pooh’s world male in gender except for Kanga? Yeah, I guess they are. Well, they would have probably all been male if Roo hadn’t been underage and needed his Mommy to sign for him. Bless his little heart.

  7. Uuumm.. interesting thoughts, ag!!! Thankfully, though, Roo IS underage… 🙂

  8. Oh yea. Bless Roo’s little heart for needing a Mamma! Christopher Robin’s world would be incomplete without a little bit of feminine company.
