Last week we went door-to-door on a certain street close to our apartment. We also descended on a trailer park just off that street, and it turned out to be populated heavily by Hispanics.

Hispanics are cool, very open and friendly, but the problem comes to the fore very quickly when they can’t speak English and I can only speak “muy piquito espanol.” So I figured I’d go back later and at least give them some Spanish tracts.

So I did, yesterday.

I saw this one girl in the doorway of a house and extended the literature out to her, saying “Dios le bendiga.” She smiled, took the tract, and in perfect English said, “Thank you.”

  2. Yeah, don’t you hate it when you finally master a phrase and try it out, and the person you speak to speaks English better than you do?
