Anchoring My Soul in His Amazing Love

AHQ’s together again, briefly, in honor of ITF’s impending marriage. Because we haven’t learned a new song in probably a year-and-a-half, the experience is more nostalgic than scintillating. Nonetheless, it is pretty cool to sing with these guys again, and even cooler to be around them and interact as friends.

We sound essentially the same as we did in our sing-every-week heyday because we mostly sing songs, in which the words, the notes, the interpretation have been indelibly imprinted upon our memory.

So to rehearse songs and be spoken to by them as they are sung is challenging. Happily, two things spoke to me as we sang them, one in regards to prayer (carrying on a recent theme in my life) and another in regards to emptying ourselves of all but Christ just as He emptied Himself of all but love for us.
